India is in Grip of SBC Virus

In last few years India has seen increasing number of victims infected by this virus. SBC virus prevail in India since long time, long before independence. Ranbaxy, Cipla or Sun Pharma never produced medicines for its cure neither any research is done to find its cure. People infected by this virus think themselves absolutely healthy and never visit a doctor. This virus sees no age, religion, caste or occupation. It can infect anybody from powerful MPs to clerical officers. In fact its impact increases with power. Green notes, money, gold, properties are catalysts to activate this virus. The disease has many names like Hawala, Bofors, 2G, CWG, Adarsh, Coalgate, Chara Ghotala, Tahalka and most recently Railgate. Eachtime, the disease scales new height with respect to the the amount of money siphoned. The amount was limited to few millions few years ago now ranges in billions and trillions of rupees.

Symptoms of this disease are greed, envy, lies. impatience. Once infected, the patient avoid to get rid of this disease and wants to be more engrossed by this. With passing time the fear alienates and patient reaches into a state of hallucination with more greediness, more lies and impatience. The disease has so deep impact that you forget all happiness of social life and deeply lost in the world of green notes. It comes into play at almost every work in our life be it purchasing property, admission into colleges, getting reservation, signing contract, granting tender, passing bills etc. Even poor pays for it to get their livelihood like ration or wages. The infection is high in upper echelons of power. Holy places too are not unaffected by it. It has rotten the administrative system from inside. The interesting thing is that this disease has been depicted in Indian large screen and small screen innumerable times but failed to create conscience among the patients.

Behavior of society towards these patients is full of irony. Society criticizes them in public but embrace them in private. Common man has no alternative but to embrace them otherwise they will make his life difficult. While embracing them many fall prey to the same virus and start living happily with this disease. Though there are many Indians who are fighting against it and trying to clean this disease from our society but it is too mighty to be eradicated so easily. Jaiprakash Narayan and Anna Hazare are some renowned activists who are fighting against it for long time.

But now the disease is in a verge of explosion. It has grown like a bubble for years which is about to burst. Daily exposure of one scam after another is early symbols of this phenomenon. In the era of bubbles like property bubble, gold bubble, mortgage bubble here is another bubble building up. It is better to get it burst soon than it gets too late.

There is another side of this story too. The story of young India. The story of entrepreneur India. There are many Indians who are progressing ahead in clean and honest path holding their heads high in spite of corruption prevailing in parallel. Whenever they face situation where their greed taking over their ethics they choose the later's company. So 2 India co-exist and I am sure if not powerful or wealthy but the virus-free India is happier than the infected India.
